Depending on what you want to find, you can use different strategies to search a chemistry database. You might want to look up registry numbers, unique physical properties, a specific chemical structure, or technical journal articles.

A good place to start is the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), which is available through SciFinder-n. To learn how to create an account and access the database, visit our SciFinder-n FAQ page.
