The UML Library has a separate database for theses and dissertations from other universities, linked below. However, not everything there is free or available for full-text viewing.

As an alternate method, some colleges and universities make their collections of theses available online, such as MIT and Harvard.

If you are looking for a specific work, you can request theses and dissertations through Interlibrary Loan, but it’s usually difficult to get copies of these items. You could also attempt to find and contact the author to get a copy of a particular thesis.

We don't recommend using a thesis or dissertation as a source in your own papers. Instead, we suggest using scholarly, peer-reviewed articles. If you’ve found a thesis or dissertation that could be helpful, try searching for its author in our Article Quick Search on the Library homepage to check if they have published any articles on a similar topic.
