While the library doesn’t have physical magazines in the main collection, there are some donated magazines on display in the 4th Floor Quiet Study Area of O’Leary Library.

You can also search for magazines online though our catalog. To check magazine articles on a certain topic, visit the library homepage, select “Article Quick Search,” then enter your keywords and run a search. When the list of matches appears, go to the left side of the page, under “Source Types,” and click “Magazines” to limit your results. You might need to enter your UML login credentials to view these materials.

If you want to explore issues of a specific magazine, visit the library homepage, select “Journal by Title” and run a search. If the library has access to that journal, the catalog will show you which databases provide access and what years or issues you can view with your UML login credentials.

Some magazines are available through OverDrive. To learn how to access OverDrive with your UML login credentials, visit the UML Commonwealth Collection guide.

If you’re searching magazines for an assignment, check with your professor to make sure you are allowed to use magazines for your work. To learn about the difference between peer review/ scholarly journal articles and magazine articles, visit the library FAQ about Peer Review articles or watch the video below.
