There are several possible reasons why the delivery of your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request might be delayed. If there are not many copies of the particular title that you requested, it may take a while to locate a library that owns a copy. Once we find a match, the staff may need extra time to locate the item on the shelf, especially if it's held in an archive or at a separate storage facility.
